Paper Sculptures: Changing 2D to 3D

 In our first step into sculpture, students were asked to transform something that is 2 dimensional (flat= length x width) into something that 3 dimensional (occupies space= length x width x height).

Questions we discussed:

• What is sculpture?
• What is 2D? What is 3D?
• How can we transform 2D into 3D?

How can you make paper stand up?

Where will you use curves or angles?

Where will you use color?

Will you repeat shapes?
